Selangor Institute Of Music (SIM)

I have been with SIM since 1997. Just a boy’s dream of standing on stage to play in church, but a mistake for signing up the wrong course. Fortunately a mistake that I never regret! With the wonderful teachers in SIM, I was well nurtured like a baby. Never have I fathom that I went on in fulfilling a bachelor degree in music, plus becoming a part of the SIM family as a teacher. SIM has given me a lot of opportunity to enhance my musical knowledge and career. I was thankful that I was much involved in road shows, concerts, workshops and even filming for a documentary! Recently I have upgraded myself to a student-parent by bringing my boy into Kindermusik! Seeing how he enjoyed singing and dancing is priceless! What more can I say? I’m always thankful to the teachers I have, and especially Dr. Tan and Ms. Yeoh whom have always been supportive. I was well loved, and I’m in love with SIM because it has been a family to me!

Mayumi and I have been enjoying Kindermusik since she was 9 months old. I think it is a great way for us to spend quality time together as well as to interact with other children and parents. I have found it to be an excellent program and it has been good to watch Mayumi’s development. Now at age 4, she loves to sing and dance and is developing a good sense of melody and rhythm. Mrs. Teoh is a wonderfully patient teacher and Mayumi looks forward to going to class. The take-home materials especially the music CD’s are also very good. I believe that Kindermusik is an excellent foundation for instrument lessons for Mayumi when she is ready.

Our teacher does a great job in keeping all the children involved and ensuring the children to have great fun. Since Melanie was 14 months, she has learned so much…not only about music but also in development of her motor skills, speech, self-discipline and interaction with other children. Kindermusik at SIM has played a very special role in my daughter’s life. We look forward to attending the weekly activities such as singing, dancing, reading stories and etc.

Our two girls enjoy the music and movement classes at SIM enormously! They are full of fun and very interesting. If anyone is looking for a well-rounded musical foundation for your young ones, I will say look no further than the Kindermusik programs offered by SIM. I am sure your children will enjoy them as much as ours did.

The Kindermusik class of SIM is a wonderful introduction to the joys of learning through music. The environment and materials have helped Shannon to make great progress in her motor skills, speech and interaction with other children. It’s great fun for the both of us and we truly enjoy all the songs in class, at home and especially while driving along in the car with our favorite Kindermusik CDs. My daughter would love to attend the class everyday if she could!.
