We visited the firefly park as part of a tour with MM Adventure Travel. It is more than an hour's drive from KL at Kuala Selangor.
It was a magical experience - the fireflies were like living Christmas trees! The night we were there a thunderstorm was threatening so extra atmosphere from the Lightning all around, the silence of us in the electrically powered boat and then the chanting in the distance of the Call To Prayer from a nearby mosque. The 'resort' is not at all glamorous but we were safe and it was an experience we will never forget. Best done in small groups.

There's not much to see nearby, so ensure that you are really keen to see it. The tours don't start until the sun is fully down, so it may even start at 8pm even when they say 7pm. Do put on insect repellent, lots of it. Don't bother taking photos as it's too dark anyway. Just enjoy the ride and be mesmerized about the butt lighting up !

You can see many fireflies. They are living in the brushes alone the river side. There are many small boats send you to very close to them. The whole trip is about half hour, and 50RM per boat, which allow 4 adults sit in. Go there in a dark night without moon will make you experience memorable.

The place is really worth going there as the fireflies r just amazing! The boat ride is also an interesting experience. The whole picture will sure amaze u as the beauty of shining bushes is unforgetable!
But make sure that before u go there u apply some anti mosquito cream or spray. But if u r going thr do not expect any kind of a fency place with good facilities as the maintainance is way not too great.
But the experience of going there is just unforgetable. Try to be at the place by 7.30pm to be the first to get the boat ride as when thr is less customers u can get a 30min ride instead of 15min

This scintillating display of fireflies portrays an image of a flashing Christmas tree... The skilled local oarsmen make this experience a memoable and unforgettable one... Visitors should also try the seafood here...
