A very traditional and kampung-like chalet and stay. Recommended for those who want to experience the feeling of staying in kampung.

We arrived Langkawi being very tired as our flights were delayed twice. We stayed in Alfah house (4 adults 2 toddlers) for RM550/night. What can I say, our stay was simply amazing! Unfortunately I did not get out into Langkawi town as my son was down with diarrhea vomiting fever throughout our stay eversince we arrived. Before we arrived the resort, they have already prepared some porridge for my sick son (ordered them when we landed in Langkawi airport). An & hubby just got out of their way to make sure all is taken care of. They rushed driving myself & son to the clinic which is in Kuah town at 10pm just there in time as there are not many clinics that operate at night. She accompanied me in the clinic and I get to know more about their beautiful family. Really nice lady.. We rented a 7 seater car from them for RM130/day. They were very informative and helpful in providing directions for duty free kitchenwares, chocs and liquor. My dad got lost in finding his way back to the resort as it was already dark and yet Zani led them back by riding his motorcycle. And since my son was sicky, I will always find a bowl of porridge outside the room eventhough not requested which tells me that they really do think of their guests wellbeing. And since I stayed all day long in the room – we were provided this whole file of DVDs and their Astro just to distract my sick child. Unfortunately I hadn’t had the chance to meet Maria as most of the time I was tending to my sick child in the room. My parents said she was a nice friendly lady. Hopefully when I go there again next time! The Alfah House has 2 bedrooms. Both rooms has got a queen & single bed with attached bathrooms. Bathrooms were clean and it seemed that the housekeeping staff did their job pretty well. They can be seen scrubbing the toilet & walls and carpets are always clean after that. No cooking allowed though but they are plenty of plates / cutleries /glasses/ cups in the cabinet outside the room. Water boiler and a jug of water are also provided with coffee and tea in the drawer. There is also a sink with dish detergents there. These are all in the ‘living room’ that is separating both rooms outside. Basically to get into the other room, you have to get out first to get into the other room. The pool was small, looks clean and a hut where you can just laze. Cats walking and lazing around too. Very tame. Dinner was delicious. And very reasonably priced too. I have to say that whenever we packed food from outside to bring back to the house – we still prefer dinner that is being cooked in Foxhill. We had steamed fish – chicken – prawns – mixed vegetable – fruits – rice for 6 pax which cost about the same price as the stalls by the road side. Breakfast changes daily and was good okay. No complaint so far. Sometimes there is nasi lemak..bread..pancakes..traditional cakes..fruits.. etc. All I can say is that staying is Foxhill is a good decision made despite the place being quite a distant from town. This place has character and very well taken care of. People are kind and not just running it for money making. They are genuinely caring and just always be there for you, even its taking up their time. Nice people..beautiful surroundings..nice food..nice breakfast..what more can you ask? Wifi is available at the restaurant though.. Tips would be that if you are bringing small children – it is probably wise to pack up the necessary medicines as clinics are not open 24 hours. Pediatrician are only available in hospitals (no clinics) If it is really bad, you will probably need to go to the hospital which usually takes very long waiting time. Heard that not many doctors are available. I was really worried as my son just keep on vomiting everything that gets into his mouth (water, milk, food) and yet poops every 10 minutes – therefore getting weak and was not even fully recovered even after the trip. But now ok!

The resort is in the middle of Langkawi, so not close to the beach or touristic area. The peace and quiet is great! We stayed in Jasmine House with a small living room, nice bedroom, fine bathroom and balcony. Everything is spotless clean! The swimming pool is marvelous and we almost had it al the time to ourselves. The garden is well maintained and very beautiful. We felt very welcome. The breakfast is great! And dinner we had tasted very good too. We had two tours: ‘Langkawi Discovery Tour’ and ‘Island Hopping Tour’. Both tours were personalized to our needs. The sightseeing tour of the island was OK. The guide was the husband of one of the ladies working there. The day before he asked what we wanted to see and we planned the whole trip. Unfortunately we didn’t see some things cause he didn’t manage the time like it should have been. He said he wanted to let us relax, that’s fine by me, but should have kept in mind time to visit things we’ve planned or at least asked. Though we did love he brought us to Ramadhan Bazaar… something we wouldn’t have done on our own. He was also very friendly and English was perfect. The island cruise was great. We were only 6 for a whole yacht. It was perfectly organized! Fantastic day! So in short, we had a fantastic time at this friendly place!
