Dr Milton Lim claimed that anyone who is pregnant or trying to get pregnant is advised to take a 400 microgram folic acid tablet daily at least till 12 weeks' gestation to ensure that mother and foetus have sufficient folate, which is required for foetal growth and development. If there are conditions that increase the body's need for folate, such as diabetes, a higher dose of folic acid will be prescribed.

I like Dr Milton's article on The Star how about healthcare can learn from Uber. Very interesting point of view, he also shared what other countries' healthcare industry are doing to be more 'uber-like'. Hopefully Malaysia can learn a thing or two from this.

Dr Milton is good and always share his thought on newspaper such as the Star. If I remember correctly, the last one that he shared is about how to reduce medication errors.

Dr Milton Lum is the past president of the Federation of Private Medical Practitioners Associations and the Malaysian Medical Association. He is very outspoken and always share his idea about the healthcare industry as a whole, not just about patients.

Dr. Milton Lum Siew Wah is a Fellow Member at the Academy of Medicine in Malaysia.
