Dato' Dr. Zainudin Md. Zin

According to Dr Zainudin, there had been many educational initiatives around chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), yet there are still many undiagnosed cases in Malaysia. Hence there is a need to heighten awareness and increase the number of educational programmers to faciliatate early detection and better management of COPD.

Dato Dr Zainudin is the preside of Lung Foundation of Malaysia (LFM), a non-profit foundation to gather funds to contribute towards the improvement of standard of care and treatment of patients with lung diseases.

Datuk Dr Zainudin berkata penyebab utama sekatan pulmonari kronik (COPD) adalah asap rokok, sama ada daripada penggunaan tembakau atau daripada orang meroko. Menurut beliau, 90% pesakit COPD adalah perokok, manakala 10% lagi adalah faktor persekitaran seperti pencemaran and faktor pekerjaan.

Dato' Dr. Zainudin Md. Zin is a member of Specialty Subcommittee in the field of Respiratory Medicine, representing Academy of Medicine of Malaysia, AMM.
