Bungaraya Island Resort

I give it 5 stars despite the trash on the beach and plastic bottles in the ocean because I know it's not the resorts fault. It's our corrupted country's fault. It's what politics does to a country. So back to the resort. my partner and I have stayed at the best of the best. The Datai in Langkawi, Ayada in Maldives. It's my first time here and I was blown away by this resort. I love the jungle, the rustic charm and kampung house rooms. We stayed at the Beach Villa and it was stunning. Although sand flies are a major issue but they do provide you with complimentary Repellent which works. And the resort does do the work to minimize it. That didn't stop us from spending our evening sitting on the deck with our wine cause it's beautiful here! To be honest, I didn't expect much but it's clear that this resort tries their *inappropriate words* hardest in keeping up with luxury standard. You'll see it in the staffs attitude, in their smile, their professionalism and their attention to details. The resort could definitely do with major upgrade but it's still very well-maintained overall. I'm sooo happy to have experience this locally. We'll definitely come back again!
