The Women’s Institute of Management is an exciting and dynamic women’s organization. It is based in Malaysia, but reaches out to the whole ASEAN region and the world.

Its objectives are:

• to promote the leadership of women in all sectors
• to provide skills training for women to gain access to income
• to provide partnership development for the total community.

WIM was co-founded in 1994 by Y. Bhg. Tan Sri Dato’ Napsiah Omar, then Minister of National Unity and Social Development, Malaysia and Y. Bhg. Dato’ Dr. Nellie Tan-Wong, Managing Director of Wintrac Sdn Bhd, the Malaysian Affiliate of Women’s World Banking, New York

PHILOSOPHY

WIM’s Philosophy is to seek to create a positive image of women and to promote the leadership of women in all sectors, forging the pursuit for Professionalism and Excellence through ongoing training, brainstorming and dialogue.

WIM reinforces it determination to promote partnership between men and women for the development of the total community at local, national and global levels. WIM undertakes to implement all its Programmes and Projects with a caring spirit. It’s slogan is “Excellence through Professionalism, Partnership and Caring”.
