SummerFields is a preschool located in Sri Hartamas (Kuala Lumpur) that caters for children ages 1½ to 6. The school compound encompasses 5000 square feet and includes a spacious outdoor garden beautifully landscaped and equipped with a variety of play equipment. SummerFields Preschool provides a well-rounded development programme and encourages your child to explore, learn and play.

SummerFields Preschool insists on the best quality education for your child. We have one of the smallest teacher/student ratio in town and therefore the number of children which we are able to accept is limited.

Our Curriculum

SummerFields Preschool applies the Montessori philosophy in teaching. We respect the children's needs for learning through concrete and hands-on experiences. The classrooms are equipped with Montessori materials together with other interesting educational materials to enhance the children’s interest in learning.

Language and Literacy

Children develop skills in speaking, reading and writing in English Language. Children in the Nursery 1 class will be introduced to phonetic sounds through a popular phonetic programme from Singapore – ‘ Read with Phonics’. Through this programme, children are exposed to letter names and sounds through rhymes, music and movement and other interesting activities.

Children from Nursery 2 to Kindergarten 2 will be introduced to the Heinemann Reading Series from UK, which is a step by step reading programme that prepares the children to learn to read and write confidently upon completion of the programme.

Numeracy and Mathematics

Children acquire mathematical concepts such as shapes, space, numbers, volume and problem solving skill through the Montessori mathematic materials and worksheets/workbook carefully designed by the teachers.

Knowledge and Understanding of the World

Children will develop knowledge and understanding of the multicultural aspects of our country and society; i.e. people, features, culture etc; and other parts of the world as well. Children will also be learning science concepts through active exploration and teacher guided activities.

Personal and Social Development

Children learn how to get along well with their peers in the class, how to play, work, cooperate and respect each other and their teachers.

Physical Development

Children develop fine manipulative skills (ability to control finger movements) and gross motor skills (control of big physical movements and spatial awareness ) both indoors and outdoors.

Creative Development

Children develop skills to express themselves creatively through art and craft activities, and music and movement sessions in the class.

Nursery 1 (2-3 years old)             - 8.30am to 12.00pm

Nursery 2 (4 years old)                - 8.30am to 12.00pm

Kindergarten 1 (5 years old)        - 8.30am to 12.30pm

Kindergarten 2 (6 years old)        - 8.30am to 12.30pm

SummerFields Preschool offers a full day programme from 8.30am to 5.30pm as well.

Extended Programme 1                - 8.30am to 3.30pm

Extended Programme 2                - 8.30am to 5.30pm
