Leong Yee Meng

Articled with one of the big four accounting firms, he qualified as a Certified Public Accountant in 1982 and left the firm as Audit Manager in 1989. He then joined a plantation management company as a Senior Accountant in charge of Estates’ Head Office accounting, treasury management and internal audit functions. He was also involved in conducting feasibility studies both locally and overseas for plantation and palm oil mill projects. From 1992 to 1997, he served as Group Chief Accountant in a local established group of companies, involved in manufacturing and marketing for fast-moving consumer goods, beverage and confectionery products. He was responsible for providing financial advice to the Group Managing Director for strategic management decisions as well as overseeing the financial and accounting activities of the Group. Since then, he was involved in professional practice in various capacities ranging from accounting, audit, management consultancy and taxation.
