Nik began his legal career as a pupil-in-chamber in Messrs. Zul Rafique and Partners where he was exposed to corporate laws. He then joined the Legal and Judicial Service as Senior Assistant Registrar of the High Court and was subsequently appointed as Special Officer to Dato' Ahmad bin Maarop, Federal Court Judge. In July 2011, Nik was admitted to the Malaysian Bar as an Advocate and Solicitor.
