He began his pupillage in a criminal litigation firm where he was exposed to criminal practise. Thereafter, he was offered to be a Judicial officer by the Judicial and Legal Service Malaysia in December 2008. He served as Judicial Officer in the High Court of Malaya from 22 December 2008 to 29 December 2010. During his term of service, he held the positions of Senior Assistant Registrar, ex officio Magistrate and also remand officer. He was admitted to the Malaysian Bar on 24.9.2010. Ivan has appeared in the Advisory Board formed pursuant to Article 151 of the Federal Constitution, Industrial Court, lower courts, High Court of Malaya and also Court of Appeal Malaysia. He has experience in general litigation as well as criminal litigation.
