KTJ is the region's premier International School, established by the Negeri Sembilan Royal Family in 1989. For the last 30 years, our Secondary School has maintained a reputation as being one of the leading British-style, co-education boarding schools in Malaysia.

In September 2013, we officially opened our state of the art Primary School, offering modern learning facilities. We provide high quality day and boarding education for children aged 3 - 19 years, with a diverse population of students from over 24 different countries across Asia, Europe, Australia and Africa. Our Primary and Secondary School is spread across a green 80 acre site located in the beautiful Malaysian countryside, one hour's drive from Kuala Lumpur.

Kolej Tuanku Ja'afar pays a lot less than the other international schools in KL. The main criticism is no one tells you what you need to know. On staff induction, no idea what they offer for accommodation, no information who to talk to about issues, no warning about the 6 months' extra tax. It's very much a case of work it out for yourself when you need to.... It is unfortunate that a few members of staff at Kolej Tuanku Ja'afar, through insecurity, make this place hard to work at. Equally too, if pay could match the other schools of equal standing, instead of being 60%, staff might not turn over so quickly or might....

it's a boarding school.......based on the boarding schools in uk.....in fact, the headmaster is an angmoh......the fees includes the boarding fees........ it is an elite school (eg like garden international etc), so those who talks about expensive fees, this is out of your league........ but for parents who contemplate sending their children to the likes of concorde college in uk (200k for 1 1/2 years), this is an alternative.....
