KTJ is not a safe place for young kids. Although the amount of advertisement and other internet comments talk about the GOOD about the school, in truth, it is not safe, for boarding children. My two children were enrolled at KTJ, after two years, both my children REFUSE to attend school and I had to agree with them. There are many snakes in the compund at KTJ. You can see snakes in the field, class and hostel. Many time , I have complaint to the management but nothing is done. Until finally one day, on my visit to the Naquiah house, I witness a king Cobra at the entrance of the boarding house at 3.30pm. There were no wardens or housemaster at sight. The housemaster is not a trained Crocodile Dundee, they shut the door on issues like this. So parents be cautious, the place is surrounded by secondary jungle, full with jungle snakes. Six months ago, one of my sons room mate was stung by BEES at KTJ. The surounding jungle and huge trees, are home to Stinging bees, bee hives can be found on trees. The staff do not take care of this, becouse they are not bee hunters. Apart from the bees, you have other jungle insects, encroaching the classroom and hostels in KTJ. Imagine giant beetles and tree insects , being a nuinsance to young children. The danger being invited, by unthoughtful parents and management. My son once brought the dead giant beetle home, he said he found it in his room at KTJ. Unkept trees, landscape poorly maintained, causes Malaria and Denggi mosquitoes to breed here. My son, was once admitted because of suspected Denggi fever. The school is in a remote town, of course the green makes you joyful, but the sting of the mosquitoes may cause you sorrow, Malaria and denggi can lead to dead. Even if the area is cleaned, the compund ouside the fence is dirty, unkempt and mangroove area with mosquitoes. The KTJ teachers are not as friendly as they appear to be, includes the Principal. Its the salary that is being paid, that makes them, show a faulty interest in child management. If pay is not good, who wants to pose with a smile with your child, its not from the kind heart. Teachers are buyers at KTJ. If they know your parents, they give extra attention. If you are a slow learner or problematic child, instead of counselling, you are shown the door out. Neer in history they have coached weak students, does not matter you are from Korea or Zimbabwe. Many injuries take place during sports and game practise in the evening at KTJ. Injuries do take place because, teachers dont take precautions and just dont bother. By the time you sprain your leg in the field, it takes an hour to get treatment. The Medical centre is about 20 minutes walk from the playing field but again during evenings, the doctor or matron is nowhere to be found. This happen to my other son. An intelligent teacher, will carry a first aid box, at all time, during sports lesson/game...but the Principal being silly, ignores all safety implementation. Just imagine what happens to a child if she is choked during lunch, having food. There is no first aid box or fist aider on duty at cafetaria. Now that KTJ is planning the KTJ PRIMARY, wonder if its really safe for much younger children. this school only impresses to the bigger children, by allowing them Prom Nights and Sing song contest. The principal prouds himself with the Gangnam style you tube dance. ..but hardly cares the safety of children at heart. may be pay them higher salary, they will willingly look into it. Not forgetting, when the child is alone in the hostel room, the electric socket and appliances, may give birth to may 'ironman and ironwoman'... But , the point is, KTJ is close to jungle, you cant avoid the poisonous snakes and deadly cobras, mosquitoes too..

it's a boarding school.......based on the boarding schools in uk.....in fact, the headmaster is an angmoh......the fees includes the boarding fees........ it is an elite school (eg like garden international etc), so those who talks about expensive fees, this is out of your league........ but for parents who contemplate sending their children to the likes of concorde college in uk (200k for 1 1/2 years), this is an alternative.....
