At Dyslexia PowerUp, children with dyslexia between the ages of 5 and 9 are provided with explicit Structured Literacy intervention in reading, spelling and writing using the Orton-Gillingham Approach (OG). This approach is the gold standard approach for remediating and teaching children with dyslexia who struggle with literacy skills. It is based on the Science of Reading and utilises current research and evidence-based strategies.
Therapy sessions include free assessments, custom-designed individualised lessons covering skills in phonemic awareness, phonics, spelling, handwriting, word recognition, vocabulary, reading, comprehension and writing and regular progress monitoring and review. For best results, children receive one-to-one instruction virtually. It is recommended for children to have a minimum of 2 sessions to a maximum of 5 sessions per week.
Parents who require expert advice and guidance in navigating their Dyslexia journey can receive parent consultation, coaching or training that will equip them with the understanding, knowledge, skills, and insights needed to help their children.
