Dr. Ding Chek Lang

Very good, he is my great uncle and I am very inspired by him.

l was his patient in 1990. He saved my life! Although this incident happened 32yrs ago l never forget this experience.

l was admitted to lpoh Specilist Center in 1990. My problem was l had difficulty passing motion. When l did manage to pass motion there was blood in my stool. My stomach was bloated n felt very uncomfortable.

Two days after admission to the hospital l fell into a coma due to too much loss of blood. l was tranferred to the ICU. At first l was under heart specialist( l hv consulted a wrong doctor). After a week in the ICU my condition deteriorated. l was given blood transfusion n placed in a machine that helped me breathe(respirator?).

The heart specialist was unable to diagnose my symptom. Even the CT scan couldn't help much. This heart specialist didn't what to do with me n told my wife n family to prepare for the worst. He had literally given up on me!

Luckily for me, Dr Ding Chek Lang took over my case. l was in a critical stage by then. He told my wife l needed a surgery within 48 hours otherwise l would die. Luckily my wife made the right decision n gave her consent to operate on me.

By taking over my case at such a critical stage may affect his reputation if l die on the operating table but he was selfless n went ahead. He operation was successful. l had maesentric infaction. Certain part of my small intestine was dead. So there was an impass in the middle........

l hv delayed writing this comment n giving Dr Deng the credit n praise he rightly deserve for 32 yrs! He was very friendly n kind throughout my stay at ISC. The staff at the ICU did am excellent job monitoring my conditio throughout my stay.
