David Ong’s practice is focused on capital markets, mergers and acquisitions, and construction and infrastructure projects. He has advised on a wide range of corporate exercises including initial public offerings, takeovers, privatisations, corporate financing exercises, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and foreign direct investments. He is named as a Recommended Individual in the field of Corporate and Mergers and Acquisitions in the 2015 edition of Asia Pacific Legal 500 – The Guide to Asia’s Commercial Law Firms and a Recommended Individual by Asialaw Profiles – The Guide to Asia-Pacific’s Leading Domestic Law Firms in its 2015 edition. David also has a keen interest in infrastructure projects, and has advised on engineering procurement and construction contracts, power purchase agreements, operation and maintenance agreements, government procurements and bids for infrastructure projects. He has been named on the International Financial Law Review Energy & Infrastructure Leading Lawyers Asia Pacific list for 2014 and 2015 and is one of the Recommended Lawyers in the field of Real Estate and Construction by Asia Pacific Legal 500 for 2015.
David was admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Victoria, Australia in 2003 and an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court in Malaya in 2006. David joined the firm as a partner on 1 July 2014. David is also a qualified Chartered Accountant and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland. David is also a GST tax agent approved by the Ministry of Finance under the Goods and Services Tax Act 2014.
