After almost 20 years under his treatment for BPH at Selayang Hospital, I've absolute confidence in Dato' Dr. Rohan Malek to perform surgery for my enlarged prostate at Damansara Specialist Hospital 2. Despite my age (90 years) & multiple comorbidities, the surgery was successful. I would also like to thank all the staff at DSH2 who attended to me during my hospitalization. Thank you Dato' Dr. Rohan.

Definitely an experienced urologist. I had a great treatment under him. He's not a talkative type of man, but surely a kindhearted person. Wish him a great life, full of success, with good health and prosperity. So that he can help more people. Tq Dato'.

Meanwhile, senior consultant urologist and head of the Department of Urology, Selayang Hospital, Dato Dr Rohan Malek said patients with BPH, who enlisted at the program, were treated with transurethal resection of the prostate (TURP), an urological operation. It is performed by visualising the prostate through the urethra and removing tissue by electrocautery or sharp dissection. This procedure is done with spinal or general anaesthetic. A triple lumen catheter is inserted through the urethra to irrigate and drain the bladder after the surgical procedure is completed, he said. Speaking to reporters at the carnival, he said this treatment is considered the most effective for BPH with excellent recovery from the treatment in 80 to 90 percent of the patients.
