Actually, it's a funny story how I discovered face painting. When I was in college, I would draw on my friends with anything I can find in my pencil case. I would cover their hands and arms in Kilometrico! Then a friend of mine took pity on all my "guinea pigs" and introduced me to face painting. Boy, was she right. It was love at first paint! I'm no longer restricted to red, black and blue ink (incidentally, pen ink is probably not the safest medium, sorry college mates :p) I get to use hypoallergenic, non toxic, and washable paints of all colours.
And even after all these years of face painting and body art, I still think it is the coolest art form ever. I get to paint on a living, breathing canvass, and when I'm done I get to see them bouncing off like Tigger, or try to climb the wall like Spidey, or roar on the top of the lungs like Simba. And that's just the adults! Kids absolutely love it too, for a day they get to be a princess, the boy wizard, they get to be Optimus Prime or the Dark Knight or Captain Jack Sparrow (aye! even the eyeliner).
"Painting faces, coloring hearts" that's what I try to do everytime I dip the brush in the paint. I don't just want to apply paint to someone's face or body, I want to add colour to your life even if it's just for a day.
